This is an interesting discussion. Today, news is spread faster through digital and social networking media. And with the resources available online, a lot of people find it easier to get their news from the internet. But that doesn't mean that digital media takes over print media. A lot of people around the world still rely on print media because they don't have enough money to buy a PC for their use.

I think the internet has really replaced newspapers. In terms of convenience, newspapers are far behind of what the Internet has to offer. You can read a lot more on the internet, than having limited pages of news and info on the newspaper. But many still have the feel of reading papers than surfing the net. But I guess the internet really is far ahead from the newspaper.

This is indeed a long standing debate, the potential death of newspaper as a printed media in favor of digital media. Everything changes and due to the customization available online, I don't think its' such a bad thing.

There is no question that the future of print newspapers is bleak. With the access of the internet in the tip of our fingertips, everything just comes so handy. I think as we move forward to the future, people are going to be very sensitive with regards to how efficient they will be with doing things and the access to the net certainly makes this easy. However, having said this, there will always be people who enjoy the laid back lifestyle that will always have the affinity towards the print newspapers rather than the latter.

Well, if u think about it, the internet gets news 10x faster whereas from newspaper it takes longer. You can get up to date news every second on the internet and its much more organized as well, its no wonder they're starting to prefer internet news.

Althought I think electronic media are becoming quite popular, it simply is not as relaxing or as comfortable as reading from a newspaper. Maybe when items such as the Kindle become more popular and cheaper (especially cheaper for the ebooks themselves) we might see more of a change.

Not only newspapers are magazines are getting smaller and disappearing, but Yellow Pages are getting smaller too. Who grabs a Yellow Pages these days to find a business? My local Yellow Pages came the other day and I hadn't even opened the last 2 years - ever! When I went to put the book in the guest closet, I saw the previous years. Interesting tidbit - this year's Yellow pages was almost 200 pages SMALLER than 2 years ago. Since Goggle, Yahoo, Bing all added the local search and maps, I always do a search for local businesses. My fingers do the walking on my keyboard - not the Yellow Pages.

Certainly the Internet is the best compared to paper media. Digital information on demand and it's interactive too. Great stuff.
